Meet Amy…
Amy Ruzic, MA, BC- DMT, LPC has supported children, adolescents, and families in school settings for nearly two decades. As a Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, she believes in the healing power of creative movement and play, a language that is easily accessible to children.
Amy specializes in developmental and attachment-based approaches of attuning to children’s non-verbal self-expression. This process allows children to feel seen, highlights strengths and passions, increases awareness of internal states, and promotes regulation of emotions.
Amy has presented her trauma-informed and culturally-conscious work with children and adolescents nationally, and recently co-authored a book chapter outlining movement-based self-care practices for helping professionals.
She serves on the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA), and has provided clinical supervision to young professionals for ten years. Amy is committed to upholding the dignity of vulnerable populations, including neurodivergent, LGBTQIA, disabled, and historically traumatized folks.
You can experience Amy’s powerful use of metaphor and playful connection in her ADTA Talk.
